There was an delay for authorities to respond to the scene of the shooting. It is not clear why the delay, but when the sheriff spokesperson was asked Lt. Villar stated that the communications center lost contact when cell service apparently dropped out. Crews were sent out to try and locate the caller. We were able to spot the Concerned Citizens base and other camps along the choke points of the well traveled drug smugglers corridors. We also saw lots of tire tracks, heavily traveled foot trails and the trash scattered that the smugglers have come to be known for. What a shame the mess you can see from the air, what they have lift behind all over the smuggling corridors that was once a very peaceful and beautiful virgin desert  We returned to the Gila Bend airport at 13:00 hours where they let me off and they proceeded on their way...
